About Us

Welcome to CalcSmart — a free collection of financial and everyday calculators built for real people making real decisions. No subscriptions, no sign-ups, no hidden fees. Just straightforward tools that give you honest answers and help you understand exactly what those answers mean.

The Person Behind It

My qualifications are based on a combination of technical education and extensive professional experience within the financial services industry. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Orleans, which provided me with a strong foundation in quantitative analysis and complex problem-solving.

I have seven years of direct experience in the banking sector. Five of those years were spent as an Account Specialist with Discover Card, where I worked with consumer credit, risk assessment, and financial compliance. Subsequently, I served for two years as the Mortgage Manager for JPMorgan Chase, responsible for overseeing a high-volume lending portfolio, ensuring regulatory adherence, and managing residential mortgage underwriting.

Why CalcSmart Exists

Most people do not have a financial advisor on speed dial. When you are trying to figure out whether you can afford a mortgage, how long it will take to pay off a credit card, or how much you need to save to retire comfortably, you deserve tools that meet you where you are — not tools that assume you already know all the terminology.

Every calculator on this site is designed with that in mind. Each one includes plain-English definitions of every variable, a clear explanation of what the results mean in practical terms, and where possible, a visual chart that makes the numbers easier to understand at a glance. Our goal is not just to calculate — it is to help you genuinely understand the answer you get.

Built With Care, Shared Freely

CalcSmart is a passion project, not a corporation. Every tool here was designed, coded, and refined by hand with real attention to detail. The calculators are free to use without limitation because that is simply the right way to do it. Sharing useful things freely with the world is not a business strategy — it is a personal value.

If you have a suggestion for a new calculator, spot something that does not look right, or just want to say hello, the Contact page is always open. Feedback from real users is the best way to make these tools better for everyone.

Thank you for using CalcSmart.
